Description

A refreshing and fruity Watermelon Frosé, combining frozen rosé wine, sweet watermelon, honey, and fresh mint for a perfect summer slushy cocktail. This easy-to-make frozen drink blends frozen rosé and watermelon chunks into a smooth, icy treat that’s both light and flavorful.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 750 ml bottle rosé wine
  • 3 cups watermelon chunks (seedless, cut into 1-inch cubes)
  • 2-3 Tbsp. honey (to taste)
  • 2 Tbsp. sweet mint (stems removed)

Instructions

  1. Freeze the rosé wine: Pour the rosé wine into a freezer-safe container, cover with a lid, and freeze for at least 4 hours or up to overnight. The alcohol content will cause the wine to develop a slushy consistency rather than freeze solid.
  2. Freeze the watermelon: Cut the watermelon into 1-inch chunks, place them in a single layer on a baking sheet or in a plastic container, cover with plastic wrap, and freeze for at least 4 hours or up to overnight.
  3. Blend ingredients: Add the frozen rosé wine and frozen watermelon chunks to a large blender along with the honey and fresh mint leaves.
  4. Puree the mixture: Blend on medium-high speed for 1-2 minutes or until the mixture is smooth and has a slushy texture.
  5. Serve: Serve the Watermelon Frosé immediately for the best texture, or freeze until ready to serve.

Notes

  • The rosé wine won’t freeze completely due to its alcohol content; expect a slushy consistency.
  • Adjust honey amount based on the sweetness of your watermelon and personal preference.
  • Use seedless watermelon to avoid unwanted seeds in the drink.
  • For a stronger mint flavor, add a few extra mint leaves when blending.
  • Serve immediately for best texture; if frozen longer, let sit a few minutes to soften slightly before serving.
