Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 2 packs instant ramen noodles (discard seasoning packet)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- 1 tbsp sriracha sauce (adjust for spice level)
- 1 tsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil (or vegetable oil)
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, grated (or ½ tsp ground ginger)
- 1-2 tbsp water (to adjust sauce consistency)
Garnishes (Optional)
- Sesame seeds
- Chopped green onions
- Crushed peanuts
Instructions
- Cook the Noodles: Cook the ramen noodles according to package instructions, usually boiling them in water for 3-4 minutes until tender. Drain the noodles thoroughly and set aside, reserving a small amount of the pasta water to adjust the sauce if needed.
- Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, honey (or maple syrup), sriracha sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Whisk well to blend all ingredients smoothly. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of water to thin the sauce to your preferred consistency.
- Sauté the Sauce: Heat a small amount of sesame oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger and sauté for about one minute until fragrant but not browned, which will help release their flavors into the oil.
- Combine Noodles and Sauce: Add the cooked ramen noodles to the pan with the garlic and ginger. Pour the prepared sauce over the noodles and toss everything together gently but thoroughly to ensure the noodles are evenly coated. If the sauce feels too thick, add a little of the reserved noodle water to loosen it until you reach the desired texture.
- Serve: Once the noodles are heated through and well coated, transfer them to serving bowls. Garnish with optional sesame seeds, chopped green onions, or crushed peanuts to add texture and extra flavor, and then serve immediately.
Notes
- You can adjust the spiciness by changing the amount of sriracha sauce to suit your taste.
- Use honey for a richer sweetness or maple syrup for a vegan alternative.
- Reserve some pasta water when draining noodles to help smooth the sauce consistency if needed.
- For added protein, consider topping with a fried egg or cooked tofu.
- Store leftover noodles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days; reheat gently on the stovetop.
