Scale
Dough and Filling
- 1 package (13.9 oz) refrigerated cinnamon roll dough with icing
- 1 cup chopped fresh strawberries
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Topping and Glaze
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Dish: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking dish to prevent sticking.
- Unroll Dough: Unroll the refrigerated cinnamon rolls on a clean surface and set the icing packet aside for later use.
- Make Cream Cheese Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Spread Cream Cheese Layer: Evenly spread a thin layer of the cream cheese mixture over each unrolled cinnamon roll dough.
- Prepare Strawberry Filling: In another bowl, toss the chopped fresh strawberries with cornstarch and lemon juice. This will help thicken the filling when baked.
- Add Strawberry Filling: Spoon the strawberry mixture evenly over the cream cheese layer on each roll.
- Roll and Arrange: Carefully roll the cinnamon rolls back up, starting from the edge, and place them in the prepared baking dish, spacing them slightly apart.
- Brush with Butter: Brush the tops of the rolls with melted butter to encourage beautiful browning during baking.
- Bake Rolls: Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 22–25 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Prepare Glaze: While the rolls are baking, mix the reserved icing from the cinnamon roll package with powdered sugar and milk until smooth to create a drizzle glaze.
- Glaze and Serve: Once baked, drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls before serving for a sweet finishing touch.
Notes
- Frozen strawberries can be substituted if fresh are not available; make sure to thaw and drain excess liquid before use.
- For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of cinnamon or chopped nuts on top before baking.
