Description

A refreshing and vibrant Strawberry Basil Lemonade made with fresh strawberries, lemon juice, and fragrant basil leaves, perfectly sweetened and chilled for a delightful summer beverage.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons)
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, packed
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 cups cold water

For Serving

  • Ice cubes, for serving
  • Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)
  • Extra basil leaves, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a blender, combine the strawberries, freshly squeezed lemon juice, fresh basil leaves, and granulated sugar. Blend until smooth, ensuring the basil is fully incorporated into the mixture.
  2. Strain Mixture: Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher to remove seeds, pulp, and any solid bits for a smooth lemonade texture.
  3. Mix and Chill: Stir in the cold water thoroughly until the lemonade is well mixed. Place the pitcher in the refrigerator and chill for at least 1 hour to allow flavors to meld and the drink to be refreshingly cold.
  4. Serve: Serve the strawberry basil lemonade over ice cubes. Garnish with lemon slices and extra basil leaves if desired for an appealing presentation and added flavor.

Notes

  • For a sparkling version, substitute half of the cold water with sparkling water to add fizz.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar according to your taste preference.
