Main Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons)
- 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, packed
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 4 cups cold water
For Serving
- Ice cubes, for serving
- Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)
- Extra basil leaves, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: In a blender, combine the strawberries, freshly squeezed lemon juice, fresh basil leaves, and granulated sugar. Blend until smooth, ensuring the basil is fully incorporated into the mixture.
- Strain Mixture: Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher to remove seeds, pulp, and any solid bits for a smooth lemonade texture.
- Mix and Chill: Stir in the cold water thoroughly until the lemonade is well mixed. Place the pitcher in the refrigerator and chill for at least 1 hour to allow flavors to meld and the drink to be refreshingly cold.
- Serve: Serve the strawberry basil lemonade over ice cubes. Garnish with lemon slices and extra basil leaves if desired for an appealing presentation and added flavor.
Notes
- For a sparkling version, substitute half of the cold water with sparkling water to add fizz.
- Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar according to your taste preference.
