Description

A delicious and hearty Shrimp Teriyaki Steak Noodles recipe combining tender flank steak, succulent shrimp, and vibrant vegetables tossed in a savory homemade teriyaki sauce over egg noodles, perfect for a quick and satisfying Asian-American main course.

Ingredients

Scale

Protein

  • 200 g flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 200 g large shrimp, peeled and deveined

Noodles & Vegetables

  • 250 g egg noodles or lo mein noodles
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets

Sauce & Seasoning

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp mirin or rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (cornstarch slurry)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (divided)

Garnish

  • Sesame seeds
  • Chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Cook Noodles: Cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions until tender, then drain and set aside to be added later.
  2. Prepare Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, mirin (or rice vinegar), sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger to make the flavorful teriyaki sauce.
  3. Cook Steak: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced flank steak and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until browned but still tender. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Cook Shrimp: Add the remaining tablespoon of oil to the skillet, then add the shrimp. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until the shrimp turn pink and are just cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside with the steak.
  5. Stir-Fry Vegetables: Using the same skillet, add the sliced red bell pepper and broccoli florets. Stir-fry for 3 to 4 minutes until the vegetables are just tender, maintaining some crispness.
  6. Combine Ingredients: Return the cooked steak and shrimp to the skillet along with the cooked noodles. Pour the prepared teriyaki sauce over everything and toss gently to combine all the flavors.
  7. Thicken Sauce: Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for an additional 1 to 2 minutes, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens and evenly coats the noodles and other ingredients.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Transfer the noodles to serving bowls and garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions for added texture and flavor before serving hot.

Notes

  • Substitute flank steak with sirloin or ribeye for variations in flavor and texture.
  • For additional veggies, add snow peas or carrots to the stir-fry.
  • Add chili flakes or sriracha to the sauce for a spicy kick.
