Description

These Sesame Crusted Prawn Toast Sliders are a delightful Asian-inspired appetizer or snack featuring crispy prawn toasts on slider buns with a spicy mayo kick. Perfect for seafood lovers!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Prawn Toast:

  • 8 slices white sandwich bread (crusts removed)
  • 1 lb raw prawns (peeled and deveined)
  • 2 green onions (finely chopped)
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon ginger (grated)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 egg white
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon white pepper
  • ¼ cup sesame seeds
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

For Assembly:

  • 4 small slider buns or brioche rolls
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce or cabbage
  • Fresh cilantro or mint for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prawn Toast Preparation: In a food processor, combine prawns, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, egg white, salt, and white pepper. Pulse until a thick, slightly chunky paste forms.
  2. Coating and Frying: Spread the prawn mixture onto bread slices, press sesame seeds onto one side, fry in oil until golden on both sides.
  3. Assembly: Cut toasts to fit slider buns, mix mayo and sriracha, spread on buns, add lettuce, top with prawn toast, garnish, and serve.

Notes

  • You can use shrimp instead of prawns if needed.
  • For a baked version, brush the prawn toast with oil and bake at 400°F for 12–15 minutes until golden.
  • Serve with pickled vegetables or a simple slaw for added crunch.
