Ingredients
Scale
Pizza Base
- 1 recipe pizza dough
- Olive oil, for drizzling
Sauce
- BBQ sauce, to taste
Toppings
- 1/2 pound lean ground beef, cooked, crumbled, and drained
- 1/2 pound bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 2 jalapenos, seeded and chopped
- 1 Roma tomato, chopped
- 1/2 cup red onion slices
- 1 1/2 – 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded (6-8 oz.)
Instructions
- Prepare dough: Follow your pizza dough recipe directions to prepare the dough. Once ready, preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
- Pre-bake pizza crust: Grease a pizza pan lightly with olive oil. Pat or roll the dough evenly into the pan. Drizzle olive oil over the dough surface and bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes to partially cook the crust.
- Add toppings: Remove the partially baked crust from the oven. Spread BBQ sauce evenly over the dough, adjusting the amount to your preference. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese on top. Layer the cooked and drained ground beef, crumbled bacon, chopped jalapenos, chopped Roma tomato, and red onion slices evenly over the cheese. Finally, sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese over all the toppings.
- Bake pizza: Return the pizza to the oven and bake for an additional 15 to 17 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden, and the crust is cooked through and slightly crisp.
- Serve: Remove the pizza from the oven. Let it cool slightly before slicing. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- Make sure the ground beef is well drained to prevent soggy pizza.
- You can adjust the amount of BBQ sauce to make the pizza more or less saucy according to taste.
- Remove the seeds from the jalapenos if you prefer less heat.
- Use a pizza stone or baking steel for an even crispier crust if available.
- Allow the pizza to cool for a few minutes before slicing to help the cheese set and avoid toppings sliding off.
