Dip Ingredients
- 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 1/2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
- 1 cup chopped corned beef
- 3/4 cup sauerkraut (drained and patted dry)
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Serving
- Rye bread or crackers for serving
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s fully heated for baking the dip evenly.
- Mix the Base: In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, and Dijon mustard. Stir well until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Add the Flavor Components: Fold in the shredded Swiss cheese, chopped corned beef, drained sauerkraut, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly to evenly distribute all ingredients throughout the dip.
- Transfer and Spread: Spoon the dip mixture into a baking dish or an oven-safe skillet, spreading it out evenly for uniform cooking.
- Bake the Dip: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes. The dip should be hot, bubbly, and have a lightly golden top when done.
- Optional Broil: For a toasted finish, broil the dip for the last 2 minutes of baking until the top is nicely browned.
- Cool Slightly and Serve: Remove from the oven and let the dip cool slightly before serving to avoid burns. Serve warm with slices of rye bread, crackers, or pretzels.
Notes
- For an extra toasty top, broil the dip for the last 2 minutes of baking.
- You can substitute pastrami for corned beef if preferred.
- This dip can be made ahead of time and refrigerated unbaked; bake just before serving for convenience.
- To keep the dish gluten-free, serve with gluten-free bread or crackers.
