Description

This Peppermint Swirl Fudge combines creamy white and semi-sweet chocolates marbled together with refreshing peppermint extract and topped with crushed candy canes. Perfect for holiday gifting or festive dessert tables, this no-bake treat sets in the refrigerator and delivers a delightful balance of sweet and minty flavors in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale

White Chocolate Mixture

  • 1 ½ cups white chocolate (chopped or chips)
  • ¾ cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Semi-Sweet Chocolate Mixture

  • 1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate (chopped or chips)
  • ¾ cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • ½ teaspoon peppermint extract

Topping

  • ¼ cup crushed candy canes

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Line an 8×8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease it to prevent the fudge from sticking.
  2. Combine Ingredients Separately: In one bowl, mix ¾ cup sweetened condensed milk, white chocolate, and 1 tablespoon butter. In a separate bowl, combine the remaining ¾ cup sweetened condensed milk, semi-sweet chocolate, and 1 tablespoon butter.
  3. Melt the Mixtures: Melt each mixture separately either in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, or use a double boiler until smooth and fully melted.
  4. Add Extracts: Stir vanilla extract into the white chocolate mixture and peppermint extract into the semi-sweet chocolate mixture to infuse distinct flavors.
  5. Layer and Swirl: Spoon alternating dollops of each mixture into the prepared baking pan. Using a butter knife, gently swirl the two chocolates together to create a marbled peppermint effect.
  6. Add Topping: Sprinkle crushed candy canes evenly over the top and press them lightly into the fudge so they stick.
  7. Chill: Refrigerate the fudge for at least 3 hours or until completely firm and set.
  8. Serve: Lift the parchment paper to remove the fudge from the pan and cut it into 25 squares for serving.

Notes

  • For best results, use good quality chocolate chips or chopped chocolate to ensure smooth melting.
  • Swirling gently ensures a pretty marbled look without blending the two chocolates completely.
  • Store leftover fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.
  • Crushed candy canes can be adjusted based on your preferred mint intensity and texture.
  • This fudge is rich, so small squares are perfect for serving.
