Ingredients
Scale
White Chocolate Mixture
- 1 ½ cups white chocolate (chopped or chips)
- ¾ cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Semi-Sweet Chocolate Mixture
- 1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate (chopped or chips)
- ¾ cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- ½ teaspoon peppermint extract
Topping
- ¼ cup crushed candy canes
Instructions
- Prepare the Pan: Line an 8×8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease it to prevent the fudge from sticking.
- Combine Ingredients Separately: In one bowl, mix ¾ cup sweetened condensed milk, white chocolate, and 1 tablespoon butter. In a separate bowl, combine the remaining ¾ cup sweetened condensed milk, semi-sweet chocolate, and 1 tablespoon butter.
- Melt the Mixtures: Melt each mixture separately either in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, or use a double boiler until smooth and fully melted.
- Add Extracts: Stir vanilla extract into the white chocolate mixture and peppermint extract into the semi-sweet chocolate mixture to infuse distinct flavors.
- Layer and Swirl: Spoon alternating dollops of each mixture into the prepared baking pan. Using a butter knife, gently swirl the two chocolates together to create a marbled peppermint effect.
- Add Topping: Sprinkle crushed candy canes evenly over the top and press them lightly into the fudge so they stick.
- Chill: Refrigerate the fudge for at least 3 hours or until completely firm and set.
- Serve: Lift the parchment paper to remove the fudge from the pan and cut it into 25 squares for serving.
Notes
- For best results, use good quality chocolate chips or chopped chocolate to ensure smooth melting.
- Swirling gently ensures a pretty marbled look without blending the two chocolates completely.
- Store leftover fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.
- Crushed candy canes can be adjusted based on your preferred mint intensity and texture.
- This fudge is rich, so small squares are perfect for serving.
