Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Vegetables:

  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium yellow onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced

Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 cup beef broth or water
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Steak: Combine sliced steak with soy sauce and cornstarch. Marinate for 10–15 minutes.
  2. Sear the Steak: Heat oil in a skillet, sear the beef until browned. Set aside.
  3. Prepare Vegetables: Stir-fry peppers and onion until tender. Add garlic and ginger.
  4. Cook: Return beef to the pan. Mix sauces and broth, pour over beef and vegetables. Cook until sauce thickens.
  5. Serve: Enjoy hot over steamed rice.
