Description

This New Orleans BBQ Shrimp recipe is a flavorful and spicy dish that’s perfect for a main course. The shrimp are cooked in a rich, buttery sauce with a hint of heat, served with crusty French bread for dipping.

Ingredients

Scale

Shrimp:

  • 2 pounds large shrimp (shell-on, deveined)

Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 6 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Creole seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup beer or chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)
  • French bread (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Rinse and pat the shrimp dry: Leave shells on for flavor.
  2. Melt butter and oil: In a skillet, cook garlic until fragrant.
  3. Add seasonings: Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, hot sauce, spices, and salt.
  4. Simmer sauce: Add beer, then add shrimp and cook until pink.
  5. Finish and serve: Sprinkle with parsley, serve with lemon wedges.
