Description

For the Meatballs:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

For Assembly:

  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare the meatballs: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, parsley, egg, salt, and black pepper. Form into golf ball-sized meatballs.
  3. Sear the meatballs: Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet. Sear the meatballs on all sides until browned.
  4. Bake: Pour marinara sauce over the meatballs and bake in the oven for 15 minutes.
  5. Top with cheese: Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan on top of the meatballs, then bake for another 10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
