Description

Hot Honey Feta Chicken is a flavorful and easy baked chicken dish featuring juicy chicken breasts topped with a creamy feta and Greek yogurt mixture, finished with a sweet and spicy hot honey drizzle. This recipe combines simple ingredients for a delicious main course perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Seasoning

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Feta Topping

  • ¾ cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Hot Honey Drizzle and Garnish

  • ¼ cup hot honey (plus more for drizzling)
  • Red pepper flakes (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Chicken: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Rub each breast evenly with olive oil, then season with smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to infuse flavor.
  2. Arrange Chicken in Baking Dish: Place the seasoned chicken breasts in a greased baking dish, ensuring they are spaced out for even cooking.
  3. Make Feta Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the crumbled feta cheese, plain Greek yogurt, fresh lemon juice, and chopped parsley. Mix until the mixture is smooth and creamy, balancing tangy and fresh flavors.
  4. Top Chicken with Feta Mixture: Spread the prepared feta topping evenly over each chicken breast, covering the surface to create a flavorful crust during baking.
  5. Bake the Chicken: Bake the chicken breasts in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) when checked with a meat thermometer.
  6. Drizzle Hot Honey: In the last 5 minutes of baking, drizzle the hot honey evenly over the chicken breasts to allow it to caramelize slightly while adding a spicy-sweet glaze.
  7. Rest and Serve: Remove the baking dish from the oven and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes to allow juices to redistribute. Drizzle additional hot honey on top and sprinkle with red pepper flakes if desired for an extra kick before serving.

Notes

  • You can make your own hot honey by combining ¼ cup honey with ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes and warming gently to infuse the spice.
  • Serve this dish alongside roasted vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad for a well-rounded meal.
  • Adjust the amount of hot honey and red pepper flakes according to your preferred spice level.
