Description

These Homemade Pizza Pockets are a fun and delicious twist on traditional pizza. Perfect for a quick meal or snack, these pockets are filled with gooey cheese, savory meats, and flavorful seasonings, all wrapped in a golden-brown crust. Easy to make and customizable to suit your taste preferences!

Ingredients

Scale

Dough:

  • 1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

Filling:

  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni or cooked sausage
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Additional:

  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • Flour for dusting
  • Olive oil for brushing
  • Marinara sauce for dipping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and prepare baking sheet: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out dough: On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a large rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Cut the dough into 6 equal rectangles.
  3. Add filling: Spread a tablespoon of pizza sauce on one half of each rectangle. Add mozzarella, pepperoni or sausage, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder.
  4. Form pockets: Fold the dough over to create a pocket, press the edges together with a fork to seal.
  5. Brush with egg wash: Transfer to the baking sheet and brush the tops with beaten egg. Cut a small slit in the top of each pocket for steam to escape.
  6. Bake: Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden and crisp. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy with marinara sauce.

Notes

  • You can customize with vegetables, different meats, or cheeses.
  • These freeze well—just bake, cool, and store in freezer bags for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven or air fryer for a quick meal.
