Ingredients
Scale
Dough:
- 1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
Filling:
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni or cooked sausage
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Additional:
- 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
- Flour for dusting
- Olive oil for brushing
- Marinara sauce for dipping (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven and prepare baking sheet: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out dough: On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a large rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Cut the dough into 6 equal rectangles.
- Add filling: Spread a tablespoon of pizza sauce on one half of each rectangle. Add mozzarella, pepperoni or sausage, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder.
- Form pockets: Fold the dough over to create a pocket, press the edges together with a fork to seal.
- Brush with egg wash: Transfer to the baking sheet and brush the tops with beaten egg. Cut a small slit in the top of each pocket for steam to escape.
- Bake: Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden and crisp. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy with marinara sauce.
Notes
- You can customize with vegetables, different meats, or cheeses.
