Ingredients
Scale
Chicken
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts (cut into 1-inch pieces)
Breading
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs (beaten)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or seasoned)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Seasonings
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
Cooking
- Cooking oil for frying or spray for baking
Instructions
- Prepare the Breading Station: Set up three shallow bowls—one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with a mixture of breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Coat the Chicken Pieces: Dip each chicken piece first into the flour, coating all sides, then into the beaten eggs, and finally into the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure an even coating.
- Frying Method: Heat about 2 inches of cooking oil in a deep skillet over medium heat. Carefully fry the chicken nuggets in batches for 3 to 4 minutes per side until they turn golden brown and reach an internal temperature of 165°F. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Baking Method: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the coated chicken nuggets on a parchment-lined baking sheet and lightly spray them with oil. Bake for 18–20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until cooked through and crispy.
- Serving: Serve the chicken nuggets warm with your favorite dipping sauces for a delicious meal or snack.
Notes
- For extra crispy nuggets, substitute regular breadcrumbs with panko breadcrumbs.
- To make a gluten-free version, use gluten-free flour and gluten-free breadcrumbs.
- You can also air fry the nuggets at 400°F for 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway for even crispiness.
