Ingredients
Scale
Shrimp Mixture
- 1/2 pound raw shrimp, peeled, deveined, and finely chopped
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 green onion, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Bread and Garnish
- 1 French baguette or 4 slices of thick sandwich bread, sliced
- Butter for toasting (optional)
- Chopped parsley or sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
- Prepare Shrimp Mixture: In a medium bowl, combine the finely chopped shrimp, mozzarella, Parmesan, mayonnaise, chopped green onion, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Prepare Bread: Slice the baguette into 1/2-inch thick slices or use thick sandwich bread cut in halves. If desired, lightly butter each slice to add richness and promote browning.
- Assemble Toasts: Spread a generous amount of the shrimp mixture evenly over each bread slice, covering the surface completely.
- Bake: Arrange the prepared toasts on the lined baking sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the shrimp is fully cooked and the cheese mixture is bubbly and starting to turn golden.
- Broil for Extra Browning: For a crispier top, broil the toasts for 1 to 2 minutes more, watching carefully to prevent burning.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from oven, garnish with chopped parsley or sesame seeds if desired, and serve warm for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- Add a dash of sriracha or chili flakes to the shrimp mixture for heat and extra flavor.
- This recipe works wonderfully as an appetizer or a light meal when served with a fresh salad.
- You can also prepare these in an air fryer at 375°F for 6 to 8 minutes for a quicker cooking method.
