Description

Delight in this Churro Cheesecake, a luscious dessert combining creamy cheesecake filling sandwiched between buttery crescent roll layers, topped with a cinnamon-sugar mixture for that perfect churro-inspired crunch. This easy-to-make dessert is baked to golden perfection and makes for a sweet treat that’s perfect for gatherings or anytime indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough

  • 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough

Cheesecake Filling

  • 2 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Topping

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it reaches the optimal temperature for baking the cheesecake evenly.
  2. Prepare the cinnamon sugar topping: In a small bowl, mix together 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon. Set this mixture aside for later use.
  3. Mix the cheesecake filling: In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, 1 cup sugar, and 1 tablespoon vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth, creamy, and free of lumps.
  4. Prepare the crust layer: Unroll one can of crescent roll dough and press it firmly into the bottom of a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Be sure to pinch the seams together to seal and create a solid base.
  5. Add the filling: Evenly spread the prepared cream cheese mixture over the dough layer, making sure it reaches all edges.
  6. Top with second dough layer: Unroll the remaining can of crescent roll dough and carefully place it over the cheesecake filling. Gently press the seams to seal the layers.
  7. Add butter and topping: Pour the melted unsalted butter evenly over the top dough layer. Immediately sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the butter to ensure it adheres well.
  8. Bake the cheesecake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cheesecake filling is set.
  9. Cool before serving: Allow the cheesecake to cool completely at room temperature. For cleaner slices, refrigerate before cutting and serving.

Notes

  • For extra indulgence, drizzle with caramel sauce or serve alongside a scoop of vanilla ice cream for enhanced richness.
  • Ensure the cream cheese is fully softened before mixing to avoid any lumps in the cheesecake filling.
