Description

Celebrate the holiday season with these festive Christmas Deviled Eggs, featuring creamy green-tinted filling and a colorful red pepper garnish that resembles a holiday wreath. Perfect for parties and holiday gatherings, these deviled eggs are both visually delightful and deliciously creamy.

Ingredients

Scale

Eggs and Filling

  • 6 hard boiled eggs (cut in half lengthwise)
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Garnish

  • ¼ red bell pepper, diced
  • Bright green food coloring, a few drops

Instructions

  1. Prepare the eggs: Peel the hard-boiled eggs carefully and cut each egg in half lengthwise. Set aside the white halves for filling.
  2. Make the filling: Scoop the yolks out of the egg halves into a mixing bowl. Add the mayonnaise, mustard, salt, and pepper to the yolks. Mix thoroughly until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add color: Add a few drops of bright green food coloring to the yolk mixture. Whip the mixture with a fork until the color is evenly distributed and the mixture is lump-free with a rich green hue.
  4. Pipe the filling: Transfer the green yolk mixture into a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe the filling back into the hollows of the egg whites evenly.
  5. Garnish: Top each deviled egg with three small pieces of diced red pepper to create a festive bow shape reminiscent of a holiday wreath.

Notes

  • Use fresh eggs for easier peeling after boiling.
  • Adjust the amount of green food coloring according to your desired shade.
  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or smoked paprika to the filling.
  • Prepare the eggs a day in advance and store in the refrigerator for best flavor.
  • Use a plastic sandwich bag with a corner cut off if you don’t have a piping bag and star tip.
