Description

These Cheeseburger Tater Tot Cups are a fun and delicious twist on classic cheeseburgers. Crispy tater tot cups filled with seasoned ground beef, cheese, pickles, and all the fixings – perfect for parties or a tasty appetizer!

Ingredients

Scale

Tater Tot Cups:

  • 36 frozen tater tots

Cheeseburger Filling:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ small onion (finely diced)
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup dill pickles (chopped)

Additional:

  • cooking spray
  • chopped green onions or sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 425°F. Lightly spray a 12-cup muffin tin with cooking spray.
  2. Bake Tater Tots: Place 3 frozen tater tots into each muffin cup. Bake for 10 minutes, then press the tots down with a cup to form a crust. Bake for another 10 minutes.
  3. Cook Beef Mixture: Brown ground beef and onion in a skillet. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  4. Assemble: Spoon beef mixture into each tater tot cup, top with cheddar cheese, and bake for 5 more minutes.
  5. Finish and Serve: Top with chopped pickles and optional garnishes. Serve warm.

Notes

  • You can make these in advance and reheat in the oven for a quick appetizer.
  • Turkey or plant-based ground meat works great as a substitute.
  • For extra flavor, use smoked cheddar or pepper jack.
