Description

This delicious burger recipe features juicy ground chuck patties topped with melted cheddar cheese, ripe avocado slices, and a perfectly fried egg, all nestled in toasted sesame seed buns. A flavorful special sauce made from mayonnaise, relish, mustard, and spices adds a tangy and creamy finish, making these burgers a satisfying meal perfect for lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Burgers

  • 1 lb ground chuck
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1 ripe avocado, sliced
  • 4 large eggs
  • 4 sesame seed buns
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Special Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons relish
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Special Sauce: In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, relish, white vinegar, mustard, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Mix thoroughly until smooth and refrigerate the sauce to let the flavors meld.
  2. Toast the Buns: Spread butter on the cut sides of the sesame seed buns. Heat a skillet over medium heat and toast the buns, cut side down, until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  3. Cook the Beef Patties: Shape the ground chuck into four evenly sized patties and season both sides with salt and pepper. In the same or a separate skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Cook the patties until browned on one side, then flip and cook until nearly done. During the last minute, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and allow it to melt.
  4. Fry the Eggs: In another skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the skillet and fry them until the whites are firm but the yolks remain runny, or to your preferred doneness.
  5. Assemble the Burgers: Spread the special sauce evenly on the bottom halves of the toasted buns. Add a layer of sliced avocado, then place the cheesy beef patty on top, and crown each burger with a fried egg. Cover with the top bun halves.
  6. Serve Immediately: Serve the assembled burgers right away to enjoy the best combination of flavors, textures, and temperatures.

Notes

  • For firmer egg yolks, cook the eggs longer to your preference.
  • You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner burger.
  • Adding lettuce or tomato slices is optional but can enhance freshness.
  • Make the special sauce a day ahead for deeper flavor.
  • Use a non-stick skillet for easier cooking and cleanup.
