Description

These delicious 7 Layer Bars combine a crunchy graham cracker crust with layers of chocolate chips, white chocolate, butterscotch chips, sweetened coconut, nuts, and a luscious sweetened condensed milk topping baked to golden perfection for a chewy, sweet treat that’s perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 2 cups crushed graham crackers (2 sleeves, 18 sheets)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (1 stick)

Toppings

  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips
  • 1 cup sweetened coconut flakes
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (pecans, almonds, or peanuts)

Binder

  • 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk (1 can)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit to prepare it for baking the bars.
  2. Prepare Baking Pan: Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving about two inches of overhang on the sides for easy removal of the bars after baking. Set aside.
  3. Make Crust: Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl for 30-45 seconds. Pour melted butter into a medium bowl and mix in the crushed graham crackers until the mixture resembles wet sand.
  4. Form Crust: Evenly spread the graham cracker crust mixture onto the parchment-lined baking pan and press firmly with a spatula to create an even layer.
  5. Add Layers: Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the crust, then add an even layer of white chocolate chips, followed by butterscotch chips. Next, sprinkle the sweetened coconut flakes evenly over the chips, and finally add the chopped nuts on top if using.
  6. Add Condensed Milk: Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over all the layered ingredients, spreading gently with a rubber spatula to ensure full coverage.
  7. Bake: Place the pan in the center of the preheated oven on the middle rack and bake for 25-28 minutes, or until the bars have turned a light golden brown.
  8. Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before lifting out using the parchment paper overhang. Cut into 16 bars and serve.

Notes

  • Use parchment paper with overhang for easy removal of bars.
  • Press the crust firmly to prevent it from crumbling after baking.
  • You can substitute nuts based on preference or omit for a nut-free version.
  • Allow bars to cool completely for clean, neat slices.
  • Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
